Integrated planning of downstream petroleum supply chain: a multi-objective stochastic approach

Abstract In studying petroleum supply chain networks, past studies have largely segregated three critical decision-making aspects: integrated planning, uncertainties, and multi-objective setting. This study focuses on consolidating these aspects proposes a stochastic, multi-objective, mixed-integer linear programming model for strategic tactical planning of downstream (DPSC) networks. Demand, considered the uncertain parameter, is modeled using two-stage stochastic approach based scenarios. The model—designed multiple centers, distribution products, transportation modes—also considers transshipment between centers. objective functions consider simultaneous minimization cost product loss that incurred during application proposed demonstrated with case real-world DPSC network undergoing construction new pipelines expansion storage facilities. augmented e -constraint method used to solve model. Interesting trade-offs in are analyzed, aiding decision-makers exploiting as decision-support tool better understand complexity, flexibility, risk under uncertainty.
